One of Africa's most remarkable predators is also one of its most endangered.
The African wild dog, also known as the painted dog, is an extraordinary animal. These highly social predators live and hunt in close-knit packs, relying on cooperation and strong family bonds to survive. Their distinctive markings make each individual unique, yet their future in the wild remains uncertain.
Last Light features my original watercolor painting of this endangered species. The artwork extends across the front and back of the journal in a continuous wraparound design, while the inside covers share information about the painting and the animal behind it.
With 144 lined pages, this journal is perfect for writing, travel notes, personal reflections, or capturing everyday ideas. It makes a distinctive gift for wildlife lovers, safari enthusiasts, and anyone passionate about conservation.

Conservation Corner
African wild dogs are among Africa's most endangered carnivores. Habitat fragmentation, human-wildlife conflict, and infectious diseases continue to threaten their survival. Because these animals require large, connected territories, protecting their habitats is critical to maintaining healthy populations.
