About Us
Welcome! I'm Brett Blumenthal, the artist behind all of the artwork you see here. Thank you so much for considering my art and illustrations for your home. I hope you love my fine art and home decor as much as I love creating it!
I wasn't always an artist. I fell into a career in art after having my son and illustrating his nursery art. Passionate about wildlife and nature, I chose to illustrate four families of Safari animals, with our cat cleverly tucked into each. After he was born, I kept painting and illustrating and with the encouragement of family and friends, I opened an Etsy shop to sell my artwork.
Since then, my art career has evolved tremendously. Originally "painting" with Tombow water-based markers, my art during the first five years of my career followed the growth and curiosity of my son and other children. I explored everything from space to dinosaurs to cars and trucks, and of course animals.
In 2019, I decided I wanted to learn how to paint with "real" watercolors, and since then I continue to refine my technique, focusing on what personally inspires me: the natural world. Using my art as a vehicle to share the beauty of our planet and the amazing creatures that call it home is so rewarding. I have a profound sense of responsibility to help others to see how special the wild is, to respect it and to hopefully want to care for it.
My work continues to evolve. Although I'm licensed with MHS Licensing, which often requires me to have a more whimsical and fun approach to my art, I'm passionate about dedicating my time to meaningful projects that tell a story. Over the years, my research on the subjects I paint continues to expose the challenges that many of them face: habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, pollution, cruelty, climate change, and so much more.
As a conservation artist, I donate a minimum of 10% of profits to wildlife conservation, animal welfare and planet. You can feel good about the money you spend when you purchase my art, as every purchase helps to support these important initiatives.
