„Das Nest“ ist mein erstes Kunstwerk. Das Aquarell zeigt einen weiblichen und einen männlichen Blaureiher, die ihr Nest für ihre Familie bauen. Ich hatte das Glück, das Referenzfoto für das Gemälde zu machen, und es wurde in den Wakodahatchee-Feuchtgebieten in Delray Beach, Florida, aufgenommen.

Ich habe etwa 45 Minuten damit verbracht, dieses Paar zu fotografieren. Der männliche Blaureiher flog los, um Äste und andere Dinge zu finden. Als er zurückkam, nahm das Weibchen, was es gefunden hatte – Schnabel für Schnabel – und ordnete es zum Nestbau an.

Es war eine echte Partnerschaft und ich fühlte mich gesegnet, Zeuge eines solchen Rituals zu sein.

Reiherpaare können jahrelang zusammenbleiben. Sie nutzen ihr Nest manchmal mehrere Jahre lang wieder und erweitern es jedes Jahr . Die Jungen werden bis zu 5 Monate lang von ihren Eltern betreut.

Reiher bauen ihre Nester aus mittelgroßen bis großen Zweigen und kleiden das Innere mit Moos, Blättern, Gras und anderen weicheren Materialien aus.

Blaureiher sind Koloniebrüter und einige der größeren Kolonien können über 500 Nester oder mehr verfügen! Reiherkolonien werden Reiherkolonien genannt - Reiher versammeln sich in der Nähe wichtiger Futterplätze und kehren im Allgemeinen jedes Jahr an denselben Ort zurück.

  • Papierdrucke: Papierdrucke im Format 11 x 14 und kleiner werden in flachen Kartonumschlägen verschickt. Drucke, die größer als 11 x 14 sind, werden gerollt und in Versandrollen verschickt, um Beschädigungen zu vermeiden.
  • Gespannte Leinwand: Wird in einer schützenden Plastikschicht verpackt und in einem Wellpappkarton versiegelt geliefert.
  • Gerahmte Drucke und Leinwände: In Luftpolsterfolie eingewickelt und sorgfältig verpackt, mit Schutz an den Ecken. Versiegelt in einem Wellpappkarton.

Paper Print Framed

Paper prints can be framed without a mat in sizes 11"x14" through 40"x50". We offer four standard colors: white, black, light wood and espresso. If you're looking for another color, please let us know and we can see if we can accommodate. Frames add approximately 1.75"to the overall dimensions of the artwork.

Paper Print w/ Mat Framed

Paper prints framed with a mat provides a finished look to your artwork. Mat-boards are white and come with a 45 degree bevel. Mat widths vary depending on the size of the print and will be added to the overall dimensions, in addition to the 1.75" for the frame. Size options and final dimensions of the artwork are as follows:

  • 11"×14" w/ 2” mat (Approx. 16.75" x 19.75" total)
  • 16"x20" w/ 2.5” mat (Approx. 22.75" x 26.75" total)
  • 18"x24" w/ 3” mat (Approx. 25.75" x 31.75" total)
  • 24"x30" w/ 3" mat (Approx. 31.75" x 37.75" total)
  • 30"x40" w/ 3.5” mat (Approx. 38.75" x 48.75" total)

STRETCHED CANVAS

  • Printed on thick archival grade canvas with eco-solvent inks
  • Canvas arrive with finished sides wrapped around 1.5" thick solid wood stretcher bars so it's ready to hang
  • Fade resistant for over 100 years
  • Ready to hang with appropriate hardware

STRETCHED CANVAS FRAMED

Framed gallery wrapped canvases feature a thick, archival-grade polycotton-mix canvas that is carefully hand-stretched over solid wood stretcher bars, then attached to a wood floater frame.The depth of the frames is 1.5" and the face is .625".
